Due to ongoing challenges in the healthcare sector in South Africa, Mediclinic Winelands Orthopaedic Hospital, in collaboration with the Institute of Orthopaedics and Rheumatology (IOR), established a specialized center providing enhanced expertise, training opportunities, and improved, highly specialized care for patients.

TRAINING
Our specialist training programmes
Mediclinic Winelands Orthopaedic Hospital provides a platform where world-class South African specialists and key-opinion leaders can practice musculoskeletal medicine at the highest level, providing quality care. The facility serves as a research and training hub for local specialists and global participants through fellowship programs, Registrar rotation, ‘shorter visiting fellow’ opportunities, and the training of skilled theatre and ward staff.
As a key component of the Institute of Orthopaedics and Rheumatology, our facilities play a crucial role in hosting academic events and training sessions. We are proud to serve as a training facility for the brightest young medical professionals specializing in Orthopaedic surgery, Rheumatology, Musculoskeletal Radiology, and Anaesthesiology. Additionally, we offer skill advancement opportunities for nursing staff and rehabilitation personnel through privately funded training programs.
